The historic Poirier’s Diner (a 1947 Kullman, the second Diner in Rhode Island to be individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places) is converted into a new concept restaurant on Providence’s hip West Side. The project entailed the relocation and restoration of the diner module, renovation of an existing building and construction of a new connector element between the two, as well as a new, full commercial kitchen as part of the expansion. All new mechanical and electrical systems were installed, as well as a complete fit-out of the supplemental dining facilities located in the existing building. The diner itself was painstakingly restored to better-than-new condition. Architecture: Stephen Greenleaf Architects
