Case Study
The first permanent, multi-story, commercial shipping container structure in the US. A building that up-cycles 34 used, trans-atlantic shipping containers, and uses 40% less energy than an equivalent, conventionally-built structure the same size: 22kbtu/sf. Stack was a member of the integrated design team, and served as construction manager for the project, as well as self-performing container package fabrication and generating a Revit/BIM model of the structure for container modifications. The building, which houses 12 office/studio spaces, is all-electric and features a 7.5KW Photo-Voltaic rooftop solar system, customized hybrid insulation assemblies, fiberglass store-front systems, and a unique storm-water management scheme.
