Containers 2 Clinics
Architecture + Construction
Case Study
Each year 350,000 women die during child birth from preventable causes. 99% of them are in developing nations. The containers 2 clinics model provides basic, preventative, primary intervention to reduce this mortality and provide hope. Consisting of (2) exam rooms, a pharmacy/office and laboratory space, the prototype design grew more from the absence of hard criteria than the presence of them. This dynamic resulted in an architecture of extreme flexibility and adaptability. Currently in-service in Port-Au-Prince Haiti, the C2C prototype serves as the blueprint for additional clinic units being produced and deployed by the organization. >10,000 patients served.
